FREE ACTIVITIES
City Orientation for new students
A 45-minute walk through Dublin city centre with our Emerald Guide. Transport
tickets will be discussed as well. A great activity for new students on their first day.
Speed Friending
Come and meet new friends at our speed friending appointment! You will have 3
minutes to chat with another student, then you will be asked to move and chat with
another of your partners.
IMMA
The Irish Museum of Modern Art both collects and showcases modern and contemporary art. It is a great opportunity to see some modern pieces if you are an art lover.
Valentines Bingo
You will be given a sheet with numbers or valentines themed words, you need to cross them off when they are called out. The first person to cross off all the elements wins a prize!
Chester Beatty Library
Chester Beatty Library is a museum that displays exhibit manuscripts, miniature paintings, prints, drawings, rare books, and some decorative arts from the Persian, Islamic, East Asian, and Western Collections.
CV and Job Search
This activity will provide you with some tips for writing your CV and Cover Letter appropriately and for searching for a job in Ireland. You can ask for proofreading of your CV, and do a practice job interview session with Emerald staff.
National Gallery
The National Gallery of Ireland in Dublin boasts some 2,500 paintings and approximately 10,000 other works in different media including watercolours, drawings, prints, and sculpture. It is one of the best free activities you can do while in Dublin.
St. Valentine’s Challenge
14 February is Valentine’s Day: the day of lovers. Emerald also wants to celebrate this occasion with the students. For this reason, we want everyone to spread the love by giving one of our valentines hearts to another student or staff member to let them know you value them!
Coffee and Conversation Club
We will go to a new local coffee shop once your classes have ended and have a coffee/tea/hot chocolate while talking about how things are going for everyone so far at Emerald.
Board Games Afternoon
Emerald will supply a range of fun board and card games for you all to to play to unwind after your long morning of classes!

World of Illusion!
This new fun experience provides hilarious photo opportunities and laughs for everyone involved. Don’t miss this incredible attraction that just opened in Dublin! You won’t believe your eyes..
Guinness Storehouse
The Guinness Storehouse is Ireland’s number one visitor attraction. The tour lasts about 90 minutes and finishes up on the seventh floor, in the Gravity Bar with some spectacular views of Dublin and of course, a complimentary pint of Guinness, beer or soda. Alcohol free versions of Guinness are also available.
Bowling Dundrum
Dundrum shopping centre has just opened their new bowling alley and entertainment centre called ‘Lane 7’ ! Come and show your bowling skills and compete with fellow Emerald student’s in this fun afternoon activity!
Trinity College Trails
Take a guided tour through the grounds of Trinity College Dublin and discover the hidden gems that make Ireland’s oldest university such a special place.
