Come and taste some common Irish snacks and drinks and rate your favourites!
City Orientation for new students
A 45-minute walk through Dublin city centre with our Emerald Guide. Transport cards will be
discussed as well. A great activity for new students on their first day.
CV Preparation
This activity will provide you with some tips for writing your CV and Cover Letter appropriately and
for searching for a job in Ireland. Furthermore, you can ask for proofreading of your CV, and practice
interview questions.
The National Museum of Modern Art
IMMA is home to the National Collection of Modern and Contemporary Art, started in 1990 and now
numbering over 3,500 artworks by Irish and international artists.
Coffee and Conversation Club
We will go to the local coffee shop once your classes have ended and have a coffee/tea/hot chocolate
while talking about how things are going for everyone so far at Emerald.
Language Exchange
Learning another foreign language can be a significant advantage in your career as long as allowing
you to connect with others. Practice and learn another foreign language meeting up for conversation
exchange with other students.
National Gallery
The National Gallery of Ireland in Dublin boasts some 2,500 paintings and approximately 10,000
other works in different media including watercolours, drawings, prints and sculpture.
ECI Film Club
We will watch a film and have an open discussion about it at the end.
Speed Friending:
Come and meet new friends at our speed friending appointment! You will have 3 minutes to chat with
another student, then you will be asked to move and chat with another of your partners.
Archaeology Museum:
If you like history, you will love this free museum. It takes you on a stroll through time all the way back
to 7,000 BC.
The Guinness Storehouse:
The Guinness Storehouse is Ireland’s number one visitor attraction. Not only do we offer a special
discounted price for ECI students, but we also provide an ECI guide to accompany students to the
venue. The tour lasts about 1-2 hours and finishes up on the seventh floor, in the Gravity Bar with
some spectacular views of Dublin and of course, a complimentary pint of Guinness.
Epic Ireland:
Epic Ireland is the dramatic 21st Century visitor experience showcasing the unique journey of the Irish
people around the world through the ages, centrally located in the beautiful vaults of the 1820 CHQ
building. Through 21 remarkable galleries, using cutting-edge interactive technologies, visitors
explore the many tales of migration, the forces that have driven it, and the impact that it has had on
the world.
Escape Room:
A team bonding activity that will test your brain and problem-solving skills. This activity is a lot of fun
while also still being challenging.
Book of Kells Experience:
Visit and learn about the famous ancient manuscript the Book of Kells, see the spectacular and infamous
library in Trinity College Dublin called ‘The Long Room’ and gaze at the amazing digital experience room
also included in your ticket. This is a must-do activity while you are in Dublin!
