Board Games

A selection of board games to play with your friends. Playing board games with other students is not only a way to enjoy yourself, but also to practice your English speaking skills and enrich your vocabulary by interacting with the other players.

Botanic Gardens

The National Botanic Gardens of Ireland are an oasis of calm and beauty, and entry is free. A premier scientific institution, the Gardens contain important collections of plant species and cultivars from all over the world.

CV Preparation

This activity will provide you with some tips for writing your CV and Cover Letter appropriately and for searching for a job in Ireland. Furthermore, you can ask for proofreading your CV.

City Orientation for new students

A 45-minute walk through Dublin city centre with our Emerald Guide. Transports tickets will be discussed as well. A great activity for new students on their first day.

ECI film

This activity is meant to improve your English in many ways, especially your listening and speaking skills. Do not be disappointed if you cannot understand some parts, because you will improve gradually and hearing native language speakers always helps you to make progress.

ECI Hiking Club – Howth Cliff Walk

This Club is meant for all those students who love doing outdoor activities while meeting new friends. The Howth Cliff Walk is one of the most scenic walks in Dublin, and it is less than an hour by bus or dart from the city centre. This activity is student-led, but the school will organise the trip for you, providing you with all the information regarding the itinerary and the timetable for the day and putting you in contact with all the other students who sign up. Please sign up for this activity by Wednesday. INIS seminar

This seminar is for all new students who will need to go and register with the Irish Naturalisation and Immigration Service. Opening a bank account, requesting a PPS number, and taking holidays will be discussed as well.

Grammar Revision

This activity allows you to clarify any doubts you may have about English language grammar and the homework given by your teachers. Please sign up for this activity by Tuesday Emerald reserves the right to cancel this activity due to a low number of participants (minimum 6 students required).

National Gallery

The National Gallery of Ireland in Dublin boasts some 2,500 paintings and approximately 10,000 other works in different media including watercolours, drawings, prints and sculpture.

NMI Natural History

This museum is famous for its Victorian cabinet style, which houses one of the world’s finest and fullest collections still to be seen today. This zoological museum encompasses outstanding examples of wildlife from Ireland and the far corners of the globe, some to be seen today and others long extinct.

Language Exchange

Learning another foreign language can be a significant advantage in your career as long as allowing you to connect with others. Practice and learn another foreign language meeting up for conversation exchange with other students.

River Dodder Walk

Paid Activities

Guinness Storehouse

The Guinness Storehouse is Ireland’s number visitor attraction. Not only do we offer a special discounted price for ECI students, but we also provide an ECI guide to accompany students to the venue. The tour lasts about 1 hour and finishes up on the seventh floor, in the Gravity Bar with some specular views of Dublin and of course, a complimentary pint of Guinness. Irish Whiskey Museum

Learn the origins of Irish whiskey and discover some new Irish brands.

Book of Kells

The Book of Kells is the centrepiece of an exhibition which attracts over 500,000 visitors to Trinity College in Dublin City each year. Written around the year 800 AD, the Book of Kells contains a richly decorated copy of the four gospels in a Latin text, based on the Vulgate edition (completed by St. Jerome in 384 AD). Murder Mystery Tour

The Murder Mystery Tour at the Wax Museum in Dublin is an exciting self-guided tour and is perfect for those who love to solve mysteries and explore the world of crime investigation. Upon arrival, you will receive a pack containing all the information you need to start your adventure. This pack will include a map of the museum, a list of suspects, and a series of clues that will lead you through the museum’s exhibition and help you unravel the mystery. Please sign up for this activity by Wednesday.
