Botanic Gardens

The National Botanic Gardens of Ireland are an oasis of calm and beauty, and entry is free. A premier scientific institution, the Gardens contain important collections of plant species andcultivars from all over the world. Please sign up for this activity by Wednesday. Chester Beatty Library

Chester Beatty Library is a museum that displays exhibit manuscripts, miniature paintings,prints, drawings, rare books, and some decorative arts from the Persian, Islamic, East Asian,and Western Collections. Please sign up for this activity by Wednesday. City Orientation for new students

A 45-minute walk through Dublin city centre with our Emerald Guide. Transports tickets will be discussed as well. A great activity for new students on their first day.

Conversation Club

Make new friends while practicing your speaking skills. This activity will take place in thecanteen or garden and it is student-led.

ECI film

This activity is meant to improve your English in many ways, especially your listening and speaking skills. Do not be disappointed if you cannot understand some parts, because you will improve gradually and hearing native language speakers always helps you to make progress. Please sign up for this activity by Monday. ECI games

Have fun together and enjoy the activities and competitions the staff has prepared for you. Wewill keep you updated with the activities we will prepare for you. INIS seminar

This seminar is for all new students who will need to go and register with the Irish Naturalisation and Immigration Service. Opening a bank account, requesting a PPS number, and taking holidays will be discussed as well.

Grammar Revision

This activity allows you to clarify any doubts you may have about English language grammar and the homework given by your teachers. Please sign up for this activity by Tuesday Emerald reserves the right to cancel this activity due to a low number of participants (minimum 6 students required).

Hugh Lane

The gallery’s original collection of modern art was presented by Sir Hugh Lane in 1908 andhas, over the last century been enhanced by notable bequests, gifts and acquisitionsincluding Francis Bacon’s Studio and Archive and Sean Scully’s gift of paintings. Please sign up for this activity by Wednesday Emerald reserves the right to cancel this activity dueto a low number of participants (minimum 6 students required).

Language Exchange

Learning another foreign language can be a significant advantage in your career as long as allowing you to connect with others. Practice and learn another foreign language meeting up for conversation exchange with other students. Please sign up for this activity by Tuesday. Christchurch

Christ Church Cathedral has stood at the heart of Dublin for almost 1,000 years. Many visitorsfrom all over the world are welcomed to this important heritage site every day. Please sign up for this activity by Wednesday. Book of Kells

The Book of Kells is the centrepiece of an exhibition which attracts over 500,000 visitors to Trinity College in Dublin City each year. Written around the year 800 AD, the Book of Kells contains a richly decorated copy of the four gospels in a Latin text, based on the Vulgate edition (completed by St. Jerome in 384 AD). Dublinia

With four exciting exhibitions, you can visit Medieval Dublin and see Archaeology as aHistory Hunter. At Dublinia, see Dublin from a new perspective and come away knowingmore about its citizens throughout the ages! Please sign up for this activity by Wednesday. Guinness Storehouse

The Guinness Storehouse is Ireland’s number visitor attraction. Not only do we offer a specialdiscounted price for ECI students, but we also provide an ECI guide to accompany students tothe venue. The tour lasts about 1 hour and finishes up on the seventh floor, in the Gravity Barwith some specular views of Dublin and of course, a complimentary pint of Guinness. Please sign up for this activity by Wednesday.
