This course is designed for students and groups who are preparing to begin a period of work experience, or as a valuable supplement to a career guidance programme. We have combined our general course of morning classes which focus on the four main skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening, with the academic elective of English for the Workplace.
This elective gives students the opportunity to study English language skills related to the workplace as well as the essential elements of Business English. Students learn how to write C.V.s and Cover Letters in English. We practise interview techniques and role-play interviews in English. Students work together on task-based projects which challenge them to use the course’s target language skills.
Our varied activity programme offers students the chance to practise their conversational English by joining other Emerald Junior students in our schedule of afternoon cultural visits and weekend full-day excursions.
