JOB TITLE: Activity Leader
RESPONSIBLE FOR: Injecting life into the Activities Programme, delivering engaging and culturally enriching experiences while supervising students to ensure their well-being, safety, and discipline.
REPORTS TO: Centre Manager
DATES: Middle of June – Middle of August
LOCATION: Campuses across the City Centre, Rathgar and Ranelagh areas.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Attend the Mandatory Training Day to learn about the role, activities, and health and safety requirements.
• Welcome students on their first day with site orientation, assisting with check-ins, and organizing initial icebreaker activities.
• Monitor students’ health, safety, welfare, and discipline, identifying and preventing discrimination, bullying, and damage.
• Ensure student attendance and supervision through regular roll calls at meetings, lunchtime, and in the evenings.
• Develop and implement game plans for all in-school and evening activities, ensuring thorough preparation.
• Lead activities and excursions at scheduled times over six days each week, providing engaging, fun, and positive guidance.
• Ensure thorough knowledge of all scheduled trips, excursions, and activities, reading all relevant materials and ensuring student engagement.
• Encourage full and enthusiastic student participation by leading by example.
• Review and check risk assessments for all activities, both on-site and off-site, ensuring safety measures are in place.
• Complete attendance records and report non-attendance or disciplinary issues.
• Cooperate with the Centre Manager, Activity Coordinator, Educational Tour Operators, and accreditation inspectors for activity evaluation.
• Collaborate with the academic team, attend staff meetings, and participate in training sessions.
• Create a supportive and inclusive environment for all students.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
• Recognised Leisure Qualification (e.g., specialist coaching qualification, First Aid).
• Proven experience working with teenagers in a residential or activity programme.
• Legal entitlement to work in Ireland.
• Garda Vetting Certification (mandatory for working with minors in Ireland).
• Fluent verbal and written English skills.
• Enthusiastic, energetic, and capable of motivating students.
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
• A collaborative team player with a proactive attitude.
• Completion of Online Training Modules and Tusla Child Protection Training.
• Attendance at the All Staff Training Day.
• Availability to work from mid-June to mid-August 2025.
• Ability to commute to City Centre, Rathgar and Ranelagh.
DESIRABLE CRITERIA:
• Experience leading cultural or recreational activities.
• Knowledge of Irish culture and history to enhance the student experience.
