Planning on studying with us at Emerald? Here are some answers to your most frequent questions.

Who should I speak to about my academic programme?
You should speak to your teachers or our Academic Office on the top floor

Do I go to the same classroom for all my lessons?
Yes, your morning lessons are all in the same classroom; if you have afternoon lessons your teacher will tell you which room to go to.

Who should I speak to if I wish to change level?
You should speak to someone in our Academic Office on the top floor

Who should I speak to if I wish to book individual lessons?
You should speak to someone in our Academic and Administrative Office on the top floor

Who should I speak to about my accommodation?

You should speak to staff in our Accommodation Office on the top floor.

Who do I speak to about extending my course?

You should speak to staff in our Administration Office on the top floor.

Where can I find information about the Social Programme?
The student notice board beside the canteen has information about the activities organised each week.

What time do the excursions start?
Adult students are entitled to participate in one excursion per week. They usually start at 14.00 from Reception. Exact information on each excursion can be found on the Student Notice-Board beside the canteen. Please contact our Student Welfare Officer to register for an excursion.

Where is the language laboratory and when is it open?
The language laboratory is in room number 9 on the first floor. It is open from 14.00-17.00 daily and a teacher is in attendance from 14.00-16.30. If you need assistance, please ask a member of Academic staff.

How do I use the computers?
The computers are in room 2 on the ground floor and are available in the morning before class and in the afternoon. Computers are free to Emerald students. As they are popular, you may need to make a reservation at reception. Please note that we also have wi-fi access throughout the school.

Where are the dictionaries?
Dictionaries are in room 9. Students may borrow them in the afternoon but may NOT take them home.

Where can I buy a telephone card?
You can buy a telephone card from our Student Welfare Office on the ground floor.

When is the coffee bar open?
The coffee bar is open from 08.30 until 14.30 daily Monday to Friday.

Where is the Immigration office?
The Immigration Office is located at 13-14 Burgh Quay in Dublin city-centre. Our Student Welfare Officer can assist you with any necessary documents.
